Walking into rooms
A recurrent dream of a building led me to move house.
For several months, I kept dreaming that my home had many rooms I did not know about. In each dream, I would walk with someone through a door and suddenly there would be other rooms - sometimes a whole new floor - and even a large garden that I'd never seen before. Often the rooms were spacious and elegantly furnished. They had clean, bright colours (my real home was a comfortable clutter). I would walk into these rooms and feel a sense of awe and delight they were mine! What would I do with them?
This dream came to me often. It never developed; I never furnished the rooms or even sat down in them. I never planted the garden with apple trees and vegetables and flowers.
The dream helped crystalise a feeling I had that my life needed expanding; that there was perhaps unexplored potential within me. A few months later, I was looking around new flats in order to move house. The feeling was not unlike that of my dream; of walking into rooms and wondering what could happen in them.
